Some FIRST DAY Reminders....

Dear Parents,
We are so excited about the start of camp tomorrow!  We have so many great things planned for the campers and can't wait to get the summer started!  Here are a few reminders:
  • Remember to read the Parent Handbook.  It is full of helpful information.

  • Please label ALL personal items with your child’s name, including snack and lunch supplies.

  • Social Story order forms must be turned in by 10am tomorrow.  We will be unable     accommodate requests after this time.  Extra forms are available in your classroom tomorrow morning.

  • Your child will need a separate snack and lunch each day.   Remember, no nut products.

  • In the morning, the doors will open at 8:55.  If you arrive early, please wait in the lobby.  This will allow us to be fully prepared for your child’s arrival.

  • In the afternoon, doors open at 12:35-12:40 for dismissal.  Campers will (ideally) be ready for dismissal, but could be finishing some end of the day instruction with music while parents pick up.  WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ENSURE THERE ARE NO ‘ESCAPEES’.  During dismissal, we ask that you wait in the hall and allow your child and their backpack to be brought to you by a staff member, ensuring that no other children are allowed to slip out.  Forming a line and giving your child’s name will be helpful.  Please help us be aware and alert during this time.  During the first few days, this process may take a little longer.  Please be patient!  Plan to arrive no later than 12:45.

  • Take-Home Readers are books that your child will pick out and bring home to read with you.  These will go home beginning on Monday.  Please return the books each day in the included plastic bag.

  • Each child will come home with a ‘Daily Report’.  Look for it in your child’s Take-Home Reader Bag.

  • The most important part of our communication with you is your class blog.  It is very, very important that you check it each day.  We work very hard to update these each day by 3:30.  If you subscribe to the blog, you should receive an email alert when it has been updated.  We have had some issues with this in the past and encourage you to check it on your own each afternoon.  The classes will post pictures, songs, and relevant videos, along with a full description of the day's activities.  Feel free to share the address with other family members.  It's always a good conversation starter.
Thank you for your support.  Please feel free to contact your class SLP with any concerns or kudos.
