Here's a preview of what's happening this week while the Chatty Caterpillars have fun at the beach!:
This week, our goals are to:
- Learn new beach songs and vocabulary
- Play cooperatively with friends and teachers
- Ask questions and share thoughts by raising our hands
- Listen and follow directions during classroom activities
- Transition smoothly from one activity to another
- Interact with a variety of different peers during outside and center play
Book of the Day:
- Monday: There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Shell by Lucille Colandro
- Tuesday: Duck and Goose Go to the Beach by Tad Hills
- Wednesday: How Will We Get to the Beach? by Brigitte Luciani
- Thursday: The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister
Our theme goals are to:
- Understand sequence of events
- Compare and contrast the beach and the meadow
- Understand how sunscreen protects your skin
- Use a story map to describe setting, characters, events, and a resolution
And this week at camp you can get excited to:
- Build sandcastles
- Create your own ocean in a bottle
- Become a scuba diver
- Create a rainbow with different liquids
For our art project on Tuesday we will be using water bottles. Please bring any clear empty water bottles you have at home to camp on Monday.
