Today our book was called New Red Bike. We loved the pictures and talked about the different parts of the bike and what we need to wear for safely when riding. For language circle we had printed out bikes and a house landscape. We practiced our prepositions and place the bikes according to wear the teachers asked them to put it. We put the bikes beside the house, on the grass and on top of the house.
For science the teachers made little cars with different shape wheels (round, bumpy and square). As a class we predicted which wheels were the fastest. After testing all the different wheels we learned that the round wheel went the fastest. We brainstormed vehicles that have round wheels....cars, buses, scooters and even bikes! For centers time we played with trucks in shaving cream, read books and played a game of memory. We had a blast!
Near the end of the day, we made noodle bikes for art. We all loved making the bikes and the back ground. The kids followed specific directions on where to glue the different noodles. We closed up with our favorite songs and left to the "good bye song"! We are looking forward to next week at the beach! We have so many fun crafts and activities that the kids will love!
