Meet Miss Hannah 

Hannah Abel is a rising junior at the University of Miami where she is majoring in Human & Social Development and minoring in Education.  Following her graduation in spring 2016, Hannah plans to attend graduate school to earn a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.  At college Hannah is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and a participant in the College of Education Honors Research Program.  Hannah decided that she wanted to become a speech-language pathologist after shadowing a special education teacher for one of her classes last fall.  She loves working with children and is looking forward to the interactive group experience that the Speech Garden Summer Camp will provide!

Meet Miss Chelsea

Chelsea Walker is a rising senior at the University of Georgia. While she originally wanted to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education, she changed her mind after working with an organization called UGA Miracle who champions children with special needs. Realizing she could make more of a difference in a different (but similar) field, she decided to major in Communication Sciences and Disorders and will begin graduate school for Speech Language Pathology in 2015. There is nothing Chelsea loves more than education and children!

Meet Miss Katie

Katie Shively is a rising Junior attending Western Carolina University for Communication, Science and disorders.  She originally wanted to be a pediatric nurse but decided to follow the Speech Therapy pathway. Katie chose this career path because she loves working with people especially with kids. She has worked as a camp counselor at Camp Cedar Cliff in Ashville NC for several years, done volunteer work around the world  and has had vast experience with working with kids.  Katie is eager to meets each of one of yours kids and is enthusiastic about the program this summer!!!

Meet Miss Nicole

Nicole Good is a rising senior in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education through Utah State University’s second bachelors degree program online.  After studying French, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean, she discovered Speech Pathology and immediately knew she wanted to use her love of language to help make a difference in the lives of others through better communication.  She plans to attend graduate school for Speech Language Pathology after graduating in May 2015.  Her favorite subjects are art and nature, but she’s looking forward to making every part of camp an engaging and enriching experience!

Meet Miss Hillary

Hillary Thompson recently graduated from UW-Madison in May 2014 with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). She is taking a year off before attending graduate school in order to travel and gain additional experience in the field. After receiving speech services while suffering from Bell's Palsy during her sophomore year of college, she was inspired to become a Speech-Language Pathologist and help others. Hillary has worked at an autism clinic for the past 3 years and has a passion for working with children with disabilities. She has also volunteered as a camp counselor for several summers at 4-H camp in the Wisconsin Dells. She is a kid at heart and beyond excited to spend this next month with her Chatty Caterpillars!
